ORGATEC TOKYO 2026: Asia's Biggest Office Furniture Showcase
Every year, the office furniture industry gathers in Tokyo for ORGATEC TOKYO, Asia's largest trade fair dedicated to workplace design and seating innovation. This year's event ran from June 2–4, 2026, at Tokyo Big Sight, drawing 151 brands from 16 countries and more than 33,000 attendees eager to see what's next in ergonomic and office furniture.
The theme for 2026 was "To Be One"—a reflection on how people, technology, and design can converge to create new value. It's a fitting lens for an industry increasingly focused not just on function, but on experience.
We attended the show to see the latest from the brands we track most closely, and one booth stood out above the rest: Kokuyo.

Kokuyo's Award-Winning Booth: "Find Your Experience"
Kokuyo's exhibit didn't lead with specs or technical diagrams. Instead, the concept was experiential: Find Your Experience. The booth was designed to respond to visitors in real time—lighting and spatial flow shifted as people moved through, creating an environment that felt alive and interactive.
The approach paid off. Kokuyo's booth won the Grand Prix Runner-Up at the ORGATEC TOKYO Awards 2026, a recognition of both design ambition and execution.
But the real draw wasn't the booth itself—it was what was inside.

First Look: The Kokuyo C15 Chair
The longest line at Kokuyo's booth was for the C15, a next-generation task chair making its public debut. The chair hasn't been released yet, but Kokuyo used ORGATEC to preview what they're building toward.
According to the company, the C15 will be Kokuyo's first full-mesh ergonomic chair, a departure from their typical textile and hybrid designs. While details remain under wraps, the early interest suggests this will be a major release when it does arrive on the market.
We'll be tracking the C15 closely and will share updates as soon as it becomes available.

Kokuyo Ing Cloud: Red Dot Best of the Best Winner
Alongside the C15, Kokuyo showcased the Ing Cloud, which is already available and recently earned one of the design world's highest honors: Red Dot Design Award – Best of the Best for 2026.
The Ing Cloud is built around Kokuyo's proprietary 3D Ultra Auto-Fit technology. This system uses gravity and real-time pressure distribution to adapt to your body, regardless of posture. The result is a chair that continuously adjusts without manual intervention—delivering what Kokuyo describes as a "cloud-like" seating experience.
The sensation is immediate. When you sit, the chair gently envelops your body, redistributing weight and supporting movement in a way that feels intuitive rather than mechanical.

Three Chairs, Three Experiences
Kokuyo didn't stop at two models. They also displayed the Duora 2, a dual-backrest ergonomic chair with a completely different design philosophy. By presenting three distinct seating experiences side by side—C15, Ing Cloud, and Duora 2—Kokuyo made a clear statement: there is no single "right" chair. The right chair is the one that fits your body and work style.

Why Trade Shows Still Matter
Attending ORGATEC is a reminder that you can't fully evaluate a chair from photos or specs alone. Sitting in a chair—feeling how it responds to your body, how it supports motion, how it adapts over time—is irreplaceable.
That's why Kokuyo's booth concept resonated. "Find Your Experience" isn't just marketing language. It's an acknowledgment that ergonomic seating is personal, and that the best way to choose is to try.
Where to Try the Ing Cloud
If you're curious about the award-winning Kokuyo Ing Cloud and want to experience that "sitting on a cloud" feeling for yourself, you don't need to fly to Tokyo. The Ing Cloud is available to test in select showrooms that carry Kokuyo's premium line.
We'll continue to bring you updates on the C15 and other new releases from Kokuyo and the brands featured at ORGATEC TOKYO 2026. As always, the future of ergonomic seating is being written now—and we'll make sure you're among the first to know.
