Herman Miller Aeron review
The poster purchased a classic Herman Miller Aeron about eight years ago for around $1,200 at a time when they didn't have much budget and were spending most of their time sitting. They worked at home handling customer service in a high-stress role for 20 hours per day. Initially, they found the chair was straining their lower back instead of reducing pain as they'd hoped. They noticed the lumbar support was inverted and thought it should be lower on the back, but were told it was supposed to be positioned that way. Despite spending nearly $1,200, they felt it was incorrectly designed because it forced their lower back outward into an unnatural curve. The tension setting was very tight, even at the lowest level, and would creak and groan regardless of settings. They found the armrests would snap and couldn't support themselves at a comfortable level. Eventually, they stopped using it and considered it a poor general use chair despite the high price tag, though they acknowledged it might work for some people with different body types or back issues.
