Herman Miller Embody review
The commenter owns both an Embody at home and an Amia at their office, giving them direct daily comparison experience with both chairs. They find the Embody to be more comfortable overall, particularly for very long sitting sessions of 12+ hours. The Embody's backrest feels more supportive and the pixelated support system works better for their back than the Amia's mesh. However, they acknowledge the Amia is significantly less expensive and still a very good chair. For the price difference, they think the Amia represents better value for most people unless you have specific back issues that require the Embody's unique support system. The Amia gets the job done well for standard 8-hour workdays.
Cons
- Less comfortable than Embody for very long sessions
- Backrest less supportive than Embody
- Mesh support inferior to Embody's pixelated system for their back
