Steelcase Gesture review

This user purchased their Gesture in 2017 after neck fusion surgery, seeking an ergonomic chair that would protect their neck. They fully assembled the chair at home. They believe it's the greatest compliment that they haven't thought about the chair for years because it just works. Asked about dislikes, they note filling out a form that asked what they didn't like took them three attempts. The only thing they could think of was wishing it came in a different color. However, when they tried gaming in their office, they wanted to be sitting in front of their own desk, which prompted them to spend more time in the chair. The pandemic meant they worked from home full-time, using it 8-10 hours a day and sometimes on weekends for gaming. Now they barely use it, working only 1-4 hour sessions. Currently they leave the setting at recline because they've always been able to sit in it for hours without issues. They still like the look and design, and suppose it will continue to work beautifully.

Pros

  • Works reliably without needing to think about it
  • Comfortable for 8-10 hour work days
  • Recline setting allows hours of comfortable sitting
  • Attractive design
  • Durable over many years

Cons

  • Limited color options
