Humanscale Freedom review
The reviewer tested a Humanscale Freedom chair alongside the Steelcase Leap V2 when outfitting their home office. They found the Freedom to have a unique design philosophy with minimal manual adjustments, as it uses a self-adjusting recline mechanism that responds to your body weight. The lack of levers and knobs makes it clean and simple to use. The gel seat was comfortable and the overall build quality felt premium. However, they found that the automatic weight-sensitive recline didn't work perfectly for their body weight and sitting style - it felt either too loose or too resistant depending on the position. The lumbar support is built into the backrest design rather than being adjustable, which may or may not work depending on your back shape. For their needs, they preferred the Leap V2's manual adjustability, but they can see the Freedom being ideal for someone who wants a more automatic, simpler chair experience. The Freedom is also quite expensive for what you get.
