Steelcase Gesture review

The reviewer purchased their Gesture in 2017 and has logged countless hours sitting in it, with their weight fluctuating to a current 210 pounds. They consider the greatest compliment they can give is that they haven't given the chair much thought for years, as it simply does what it's supposed to do. The only issue that motivated them to write was filling out a form about what they disliked, which took three attempts because they struggled to think of anything negative. They eventually settled on wishing the chair came in a color that matched their desk better, though they acknowledge this is a minor aesthetic preference rather than a functional issue. When they got their own office and started gaming, they tried sitting in front of their own desk but found the experience lacking compared to the Gesture. The pandemic hit and they began working from home full-time, using the chair for 8-10 hours per day and sometimes more on weekends for gaming. Currently they barely use the chair at all, working only 1-4 hour sessions a few days a week. They don't use the chair for gaming anymore either. They usually leave it set to recline, which they've always been able to sit in for hours with no issues. They haven't actually thought about whether they should sit in a chair or stand in ages, reflecting that maybe this ownership experience reflects those many years of use better than a formal review. They still like the look and design of the chair, finding it both beautiful and modern, and suppose it will work the same if they ever need to use it more regularly again. What they can say is that if someone contacted them years ago and asked about their chair, they think they might have answered with a new one, but nothing about the chair made them want to consider other options after 9 years ago. They don't feel they've missed out on some new development, and it's the one thing they've adjusted here and there. They remember the hardest thing being the headrest part, which they've forgotten about in recent times, and found that maybe chair ownership reflects how well others are. They know a lot of people don't like how the Gesture looks compared to more popular gaming chairs, but they found that maybe those many years could be hard to come by if they know what they're looking for.
