Steelcase Gesture review

User purchased Steelcase Gesture after trying multiple high-end chairs (Herman Miller Aeron, Humanscale Freedom, Okamura Contessa 2, Herman Miller Embody, Leap chair). Found Gesture most comfortable with best armrests. However, experiencing persistent creaking noise from left side of seat pan when fidgeting, even after seat replacement and full product exchange. Suspects manufacturing defect in cushioning material, but store display units don't have this issue.

Pros

  • Most comfortable chair after extensive testing of premium options
  • Superior armrest comfort compared to competitors
  • No quality control issues like some Leap chairs

Cons

  • Persistent creaking noise from left seat pan within 10-15 days of use
  • Issue recurs even after seat replacement and full product exchange
  • Suspected manufacturing defect in seat cushioning material
  • Friction noise when fidgeting significantly distracting
