Steelcase Amia review

This user bought an Amia based on recommendations from this subreddit but found it didn't work well for their body type and sitting preferences. They're a smaller person (5'4") and found the seat depth to be too long even at its most compressed setting, causing pressure behind their knees. The lumbar support, while adjustable, still hit them in the wrong spot and they couldn't get it positioned correctly for their shorter torso. After struggling with it for a few weeks and trying every adjustment combination, they ended up returning it and getting a different chair designed for smaller users. They acknowledge it's probably a great chair for average-sized people but it just wasn't designed with petite users in mind.

Cons

  • Seat depth too long for smaller person (5'4")
  • Pressure behind knees even at minimum setting
  • Lumbar support hits wrong spot for shorter torso
  • Couldn't position correctly despite adjustments
  • Not designed for petite users
